There are a gazillion things I never seem to get around to doing (fixing the broken blind in our bedroom, getting some photos printed of ‘the baby’ who is almost two but still doesn’t exist on our walls, pinning down the coffee date I’ve been promising my neglected friend via WhatsApp for at least 6 months…) BUT this morning I finally got my arse in gear and ticked off something from my ‘Really Must Do’ list by attending a First Aid class designed specifically for parents, grandparents and carers of babies and young children. It took just two hours out of my morning and covered a whole host of stuff including what to do if a child is choking, how to deal with burns/breaks/bleeding and the basics of life-saving CPR for kids.

We have been working with Mini First Aid since 2017 on various platforms. Most recently, we ran a highly successful campaign with a 3 pronged approach - the first was to educate more parents about sensitive skin via a Mini First Aid blog, newsletter feature and podcast, the second was to team up on a brand awareness competition via social media, and the third was to reach a wider audience by giving out free Childs Farm samples to hundreds of parents whilst they were learning life-saving first aid. It was a great way to reach our target audience with a multichannel approach.

St Joseph’s School, Wetherby (Early Years class) Our Nursery class love to get involved in whole-school curriculum enrichment activities but First Aid for 3-4 year olds? Even for our well-seasoned teachers, this sounded like a tall order. How wrong we were! Our sessions with Claire were absolutely brilliant. Skillful teaching, great resources, clear messages and important safety information; empowering our children to feel like mini first aiders. With the help of Max the teddy, we learned simple first aid techniques for cuts, scrapes and head bumps; as well as learning how to make someone comfortable by lying them on their side if they are very poorly. We learned about how you may need to phone 999 in an emergency and that you need to know your address. The children absolutely loved The ‘Mini Adventures of Freddie’ story which brought everything together perfectly. Thank-you Claire. Never underestimate 3-4 year olds! They really can save lives!

This weekend, I along with my Mother attended the 2 hour Baby and Child First Aid session. We thought the session was absolutely great, arriving with zero knowledge on first aid for little ones we now both feel so much more confident in dealing with an emergency situation. Joe was great and extremely knowledgeable on all information given and everything was explained in a way that was easy to process and take on board. I can’t recommend this 2 hour course enough and will certainly be telling friends and family about it!

Absolutely brilliant first aid course I have just had round a family members house! Lovely person, easy to talk to, answered all of my questions and made us all feel relaxed! Thank you very much for making me feel more confident in first aid! I feel this first aid course is a must if you have children/ if your looking after children!

The Mini First Aid Class (filmed for ITVBe) was a fantastic class, both Arg and I found it a really good and informative session

One afternoon, we were enjoying a day out in the sunshine and had stopped to feed our daughter of 7 months, she’s just started solid food and we’d been giving her sliced banana to chew on. On this particular day, she inhaled a small piece and began to choke. I quickly remembered Martin’s words, put her in the proper hold, bottom in the air and one forceful strike between her shoulder blades dislodged the banana and although she was shocked, she was able to breathe again and I can’t tell you how relieved we felt! It may have only been 10 seconds in which she couldn’t breathe but it was terrifying. Had I not had the training from Martin and Mini First Aid, I cannot even begin to imagine how differently the situation could have turned out. In fact, I’d go as far to say that the training I received enabled me to save our daughter’s life.

We have seen hundreds of clients go through the Infection Control Course and heard nothing but positive feedback. They were able to do everything in their own time and now have the ability to promote their certificate/badge to all current and future customers which has helped them secure both venues and new clients. I would highly recommend anyone that is running a children's activities business to complete this course.

A brilliant, informal and well-presented (easy to understand) course, and absolutely essential for anyone who has kids or even just looks after them once in a while. I’ve been wanting to do something like this ever since having my son (5 years ago) but not got round to it, which is ridiculous…why wait for something horrid to happen to spur you on to learn what you should’ve done! Did the Mini First Aid at Wymondham today with Joe and it was brilliant. Loved Joe’s serious but relaxed approach to dealing with children who won’t necessarily sit still while you tend to them! You can tell he’s got 3 kids of his own. But that’s important..he understands the challenges and that children and babies aren’t just mini adults. They can’t always tell you when something is wrong. Really pleased I did the course and would recommend it to EVERYONE with children of any age. Most important thing I learnt today – when doing CPR you are more than likely not doing it hard enough so use appropriate but stronger than you think force to pump the heart. Thanks again Joe

This weekend myself and five mummy friends had a private Mini First Aid session from the comfort of my own home. Now I’ve done it I can’t believe I hadn’t done it sooner, what a no-brainer!! Holly, our trainer was an excellent facilitator. The session was informative and enjoyable, and the class size made it feel accessible and easy for everyone to get stuck in. Holly's first-hand experience in the field, coupled with being a parent made the information really palatable and relatable. She made sure to have inclusive material which was perfect for the multicultural group we were in. I'd highly recommend the class if you want to arm yourself with the confidence to respond to a child in an emergency situation.

I found the company online through researching baby first aid products and the reviews were so great that I had to buy and try, and I was so impressed! The first aid kits really are so extensive! I want to say a huge thank you to Angie from Mini First Aid for coming to our home to teach my family and I baby first aid! I had some basic knowledge but it didn’t compare to the hands on approach in our class where we got to practice techniques. Angie was incredible and so patient with us, and the lesson was invaluable to us as new parents!

Well paced, excellent/easy to follow content and baby/breastfeeding friendly too! As a first time mother- I always have in the back of my mind “what if”….. today’s course was a real reassurance that I would have the basic tools at my disposal and know what to do in an emergency, CPR or even minor injury event (cuts, bumps etc).
