Mini First Aid Kids is designed for children aged 7-11. Children are starting to be more independent and can understand basic first aid. In the 1-hour session, Children learn to deal with bumps, burns, breaks and bleeding, carry out CPR and deal with choking. The class is practical, lots of fun and involves lots of activities for the children to enjoy. A favourite with schools and voluntary groups, the class can also be organised for private groups.
Children with Healthy Minds AND Healthy Bodies
With mental health on the National Curriculum for Primary and Secondary schools, our Healthy Minds programme teaches children aged 7-11 about how to stay healthy mentally as well as physically.
We know from teachers and children, that our award-winning Kids classes are memorable and fun. So we have taken what we do, and applied it to the most important issue for children right now: Having a healthy mind.
Healthy Minds includes six 1 hour workshop style classes which provide children with a solid foundation for positive mental health and wellbeing.
Workshops: Self Esteem, Anxiety, Bullying, Body Image, Resilience and Healthy Minds (Putting Skills into Practice)
Mini First Aid Teens is for children aged 11-16. This class enables them to deliver first aid if no adults were available. In the 2-hour session, Teens learn to carry out CPR and deal with choking, deal with head injuries, burns, breaks, bleeding, asthma attacks and allergic reactions. This class meets the KS3 National Curriculum Requirements in England & Wales. The class is practical, lots of fun and involves lots of activities for the children to enjoy. Sky are always looking for ways to better support their staff and Parents@Sky Network offers support and benefits to staff who are parents. I came across Mini First Aid through a Facebook promotion and there was a huge demand for the Infant and Child First Aid class which was shared on our internal and external social channels. The communication and organisation of the event was excellent - Sarah-Lou was professional, engaging and even injected some parent style humour! The class was interactive and educational - everyone took something away from it including much more confidence in dealing with any emergencies which could arise with their little ones. The feedback received on the back of it was amazing! It was a great success and hopefully something we can do again, and potentially roll out to other sites in the UK. Thank you Mini First Aid, you were a pleasure to deal with!
A brilliant, informal and well-presented (easy to understand) course, and absolutely essential for anyone who has kids or even just looks after them once in a while. I’ve been wanting to do something like this ever since having my son (5 years ago) but not got round to it, which is ridiculous…why wait for something horrid to happen to spur you on to learn what you should’ve done! Absolutely brilliant and highly recommended. The booklet to take away is also really handy too. Thank you very much, 2 hours and £20 very well spent
"We are so glad we have done a Mini First Aid class. We enjoyed the class, found it really useful and feel so much more prepared in the build up to having our baby.”
The Mini First Aid Class (filmed for ITVBe) was a fantastic class, both Arg and I found it a really good and informative session
Excellent course ran today in Diss by Joe! So glad we attended. I personally from the 2 hours feel so much more confident in not only infant and child 1st aid, but also feel confident the basic skills learnt tonight can be used in emergency to adults too ! Well organised and expertly delivered by Joe who really knows his stuff. Any questions or situations you’ve dealt with Joe will have the advice needed. Fantastic value for such and excellent course. It takes 2 hours and could save a life! Thanks a lot Joe
We attended the Mini First Aid class when I was pregnant last year. Fast forward to now and my baby girl is 8months old and my training has just saved her life! My daughter began silently choking on a piece of toast and had started to turn purple, because of my training I remained as calm as can be in that situation and was able to get her in the correct position and give her some black blows and retrieve the nasty culprit. £20 I paid for that course, it was the best £20 I ever spent because my daughter's life is priceless. I know for a fact before attending the course I would have just panicked and screamed, not knowing the best course of action. Thank you so much Mini First Aid, you saved my daughter's life and for that I'm eternally grateful.
I attended this baby and child first aid class yesterday and would highly recommend it to anyone with children. Very straight forward and informative. Amazing value for money too.
We have seen hundreds of clients go through the Infection Control Course and heard nothing but positive feedback. They were able to do everything in their own time and now have the ability to promote their certificate/badge to all current and future customers which has helped them secure both venues and new clients. I would highly recommend anyone that is running a children's activities business to complete this course.
Did the Mini First Aid at Wymondham today with Joe and it was brilliant. Loved Joe’s serious but relaxed approach to dealing with children who won’t necessarily sit still while you tend to them! You can tell he’s got 3 kids of his own. But that’s important..he understands the challenges and that children and babies aren’t just mini adults. They can’t always tell you when something is wrong. Really pleased I did the course and would recommend it to EVERYONE with children of any age. Most important thing I learnt today – when doing CPR you are more than likely not doing it hard enough so use appropriate but stronger than you think force to pump the heart. Thanks again Joe
One afternoon, we were enjoying a day out in the sunshine and had stopped to feed our daughter of 7 months, she’s just started solid food and we’d been giving her sliced banana to chew on. On this particular day, she inhaled a small piece and began to choke. I quickly remembered Martin’s words, put her in the proper hold, bottom in the air and one forceful strike between her shoulder blades dislodged the banana and although she was shocked, she was able to breathe again and I can’t tell you how relieved we felt! It may have only been 10 seconds in which she couldn’t breathe but it was terrifying. Had I not had the training from Martin and Mini First Aid, I cannot even begin to imagine how differently the situation could have turned out. In fact, I’d go as far to say that the training I received enabled me to save our daughter’s life.
BRILLIANT! Very happy we had a private class at my house with family and friends! Given me real confidence after my child has been unwell. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to do first aid!
There are a gazillion things I never seem to get around to doing (fixing the broken blind in our bedroom, getting some photos printed of ‘the baby’ who is almost two but still doesn’t exist on our walls, pinning down the coffee date I’ve been promising my neglected friend via WhatsApp for at least 6 months…) BUT this morning I finally got my arse in gear and ticked off something from my ‘Really Must Do’ list by attending a First Aid class designed specifically for parents, grandparents and carers of babies and young children. It took just two hours out of my morning and covered a whole host of stuff including what to do if a child is choking, how to deal with burns/breaks/bleeding and the basics of life-saving CPR for kids.
We did the 2 hour course today in readiness for our baby’s arrival. Joe was brilliant, the course is packed with usual info and hugely confidence-building to be able to practise your technique should anything did go wrong. Thanks so much!
25 Aug 20 - Paediatric first Aid, A relaxed and informative course, it felt safe in the current circumstances (Covid-19)
This weekend, I along with my Mother attended the 2 hour Baby and Child First Aid session. We thought the session was absolutely great, arriving with zero knowledge on first aid for little ones we now both feel so much more confident in dealing with an emergency situation. Joe was great and extremely knowledgeable on all information given and everything was explained in a way that was easy to process and take on board. I can’t recommend this 2 hour course enough and will certainly be telling friends and family about it!
It was a pleasure meeting Kate and Jacky from Mini First Aid and being taught what to do in case of an emergency. Learning CPR and what to do when a child is choking is invaluable. Obviously, I hope I never had to use the things I learned in today’s class, but horrible things happen and knowing these techniques can really make a huge difference. The class was fun and accessible given the seriousness of the topic. I would highly recommend everyone doing it.
I recently attended a 2 hour Baby and Child First Aid session along with my husband and our parents. We all found the session extremely useful and we all now feel very confident in dealing with an emergency situation with a baby or child. Joe is very relaxed but very knowledgable and able to talk from first hand experience too from both a personal and professional level. I felt the course offered everything we would need to know and was presented in such a way that it was easy to process and take on board. We feel so pleased that we have attended and will definitely be recommending the session to family and friends.
Fantastic course, delivered brilliantly by Joe. Thank you for giving me more confidence to know what to do in emergency situations! Cannot recommend this class highly enough! Thank goodness for real life superheroes like Joe!
Absolutely brilliant first aid course I have just had round a family members house! Lovely person, easy to talk to, answered all of my questions and made us all feel relaxed! Thank you very much for making me feel more confident in first aid! I feel this first aid course is a must if you have children/ if your looking after children!
Had a mini first aid course with Anna on Sunday and it was amazing!! Learnt so much in the 2 hours and covered everything that I would worry about facing! Anna was lovely and answered any questions the group had. I would def recommend doing this course. March 2020
25 Aug 20 - Blended Paediatric First Aid - 'Amazing amount of detail, best first aid course I have attended (I have attended 5 in total)
Well paced, excellent/easy to follow content and baby/breastfeeding friendly too! As a first time mother- I always have in the back of my mind “what if”….. today’s course was a real reassurance that I would have the basic tools at my disposal and know what to do in an emergency, CPR or even minor injury event (cuts, bumps etc). I cant recommend this course highly enough…. for only £20 it’s the biggest reassurance you can buy. The course leader is a brilliant guy, friendly – informative and helpful. Do it today.
I cannot recommend Mini First Aid enough. Kate ran a private class for me and my 11 year old daughter in the comfort of our own home, which was perfect especially as my babies are due any day now. My daughter and I feel much more confident in knowing what to do in a range of emergency situations and I also got some extra twin tips from Kate as a fellow twin Mum! It's such an important life skill that every parent and carer should have so I would urge you to book a Mini First Aid course today.
I loved this course. I have attended others in the past but felt overwhelmed with how much I needed to know. Joe was fantastic and I learnt so much. The course was interesting and relaxed and we really enjoyed it. Thank you!
